Over here in Eugene we have been in the middle of a heat wave!! I am telling you, we were dying! Our awesome apartment has no air conditioning and the upstairs literally turns into an oven, trying to cook us alive! So to keep sane, we have been doing lots of swimming, shopping in the freezer section, and hanging out at out friends house for dinner! Thanks to Amy and Kyle we didn't have to turn on our oven. It was a hot couple of days, but tonight it feels great, nice and cool.
This is about 1 am on Monday night. It was so hot that we moved the girls downstairs right in front of the door and fan. My brother had to bring the crib over from my parents house, then we set it up and moved the babies. So for 3 nights, me and the girls had sleepovers downstairs together. Now Annie thinks it is fun and wants permanently move her room to our living room :)

Zoo maddness!
So Rex has just a couple of days off a week and one on them he is in class. We decided to make the most of our time and stay busy on his one day off....I am not sure that is such a good idea! We braved the crowds and went to the zoo on 2$ Tuesday. Holy Cow. It was insane. Fun, but hot, busy, and long! We had to take a shuttle from the parking lot to the zoo, wait in line and then push our way through to see the animals! It was worth it though, because Annie LOVED it!! She was so excited. I love visiting with my sister, so we had a great time, thanks guys!!
Fun in the sun... it was burning hot! But I was so proud when at the end of the day my girls weren't burnt!
All the kiddies... yeah this is the best I got :)

Go EM's!
Last night Rex and I went to an Eugene Emeralds baseball game. They are a minor league team here in town. It was sooo fun!! My parents watched the kids so we could go on a date! (thanks mom and dad) It was so much fun to be out together and it didn't hurt that the Em's won! We love a good date night!
Cheese.....so much fun!

Fun at the "cool"
Our pool is finally open, yeah!! oH, Annie calls it the cool :) Anyway, when it was 90+ we were loving the water! After Rex gets home from working around fire, smoke, and dirt he is ready to swim and we just love our pool! Macey really likes the water and kick like crazy! Annie loves to run and jump in and we are practicing kicking and blowing bubbles. Yeah for swimming!

Festivities on the 4th
We had a great fourth, I love this holiday and I can't really put my finger on why. Maybe the parades, delish food, fireworks, dressing up my kids in patriotic colors, or getting together with friends and family. I love it! We started the day off at a parade which the girls did great at! Even though it was 90 degrees in the blistering sun, we just slathered on the sunscreen and enjoyed watching lots of firetrucks, horses, cars, and having candy thrown at us. Annie liked the candy part, even though she can't eat any of it because it is all old lady butterscotch candy. Oh, well it was a blast. We saw Rex in the parade. He was there in a big ODF firetruck and sprayed us with water. Which was immediately followed by both of our kids crying.. they didn't like it very much.
:) Then we had naps, hallelujah, and then went to a bbq at my parents. It was so much fun. Really good food that just hit the spot topped off with handmade homemade ice cream in a bag. We finished the night off by doing sparklers....only a few burn marks in a blanket, and listening to my mom sing holiday appropriate songs at the top of her lungs :) We love this country and are grateful for our freedom!

Macy 9 months!
Wow, the time flies! Our baby is nine months and moving right along! She is very mobile and has figured out how to do the worm, which is how she gets around. I know that crawling is right around the corner :) She also started signing a couple of days ago. She can say "more", because she loves to snack on bread and fruit! It is so cute!! Her and Annie have fun together with toys and Annie is getting really good at sharing! We just love her so much and I can't believe how fast she is growing!
This is what happens when we think she is sleeping. Moved to the floor and her books are so lovely and lined up in bed.
